Prima Ballerina Athena

Last night was Athena's Christmas dance recital. This is a BFD in this household as Athena takes dance uber seriously. It was held in the cute little Maumee Theater here in Ohio and was a magical evening.

First up is ballet. They danced to "One Little Christmas Tree" originally by Stevie Wonder. She's the little dancer on the far right part of the screen.
(Sorry for the poor quality. My husband made do with what he had.)

Next up is her Hip Hop recital. They danced to "Last Night I Saw Santa" originally by New Kids on the Block. She's the far right dancer again.

Tell her what you think. She'll love to hear it :)

Ballet is back!

After a very long break for the holidays and then a snow day, Athena finally got to go back to ballet class today. I'm pretty sure she thought I was never taking her back. She practiced like crazy with her video and named one of her Barbies Miss Bridget so she could reenact class. This kid is SERIOUS.

A Real Dream Come True

Since the day I found out I was pregnant with a girl, I've been daydreaming about all the girly things we'd get to do together. Dressing her, doing her hair, and playing Barbies were all things I was looking forward to with great expectations. I always wondered if she would want to take dance classes and have recitals for us to go to. Oh the anticipation!! I couldn't wait!

The time has arrived. Today we go to my little ballerina's dress rehearsal for her first Christmas ballet recital. I'm so proud, emotional, and amazed that my tiny baby is actually a big girl and going to dance on the big stage.

Oh, I am one proud mama.
