Every time we go out I have these answers at the ready:
1. Yes, this is my daughter.
2. Yes, I'm sure she's mine.
3. No, she's not adopted. I saw her come out after 3 days of labor and a c-section.
4. No, she's not the milk man's.
I guess it really is astounding how different my daughter and I look from eachother. Our features are completely opposite. I really came to terms with it when this photo was brought to my attention this morning. A photographer from the Bedford Now at the Bedford Trade Fair took this while I was waiting for my nachos. I was unaware, but Athena is ALWAYS ready for a photo op. I now know what it was like for my 5'3, blonde haired, blue eyed mother to be taking me around.

3 days of labor AND a C-Section? I may reconsider that whole adoption thing next time...at least revisit it with a clear head. Bonus on the adoption side, if they turn out to be a murderer, you can always say something like "you know, from the moment we picked him up, he had that distant look."
I also now know what MY mother must have felt like. I too was considered to be the "milk man's" offspring.
You two do have similar expressions on your faces. There's at least that!
TOO funny.
I don't know what's better, that you got your photo taken whilst waiting for nachos, or this post.
First off - there will come a day, I can soon imagine, when that child's personality will be EXACTLY yours. She will be more akin to you in her personality, I can only hope.
Not because Big Bro's is bad, but because I like yours better. :-)
I think that's the only reason why people can sometimes think that I look like my mom. Our personalities are identical and we have the same movements and way of speaking. Athena is already starting to act like me. i.e. laughing at farts and burps and when I pull my pants down.
Oh, and the only way the picture would have been better is if they wouldn't have snapped one of me licking dropped cheese off of her head.
I agree.
