Yes, yes it is. It's time for another pointless rant. Time for me to vent about something that is making me nuts for no darn good reason. What's the annoyance du jour? (It's the annoyance of the day. Ha!) It's people that morph into their significant other. I've gotten to where my skin crawls when I talk to a friend because she is almost unrecognizable. Her way of speaking, verbiage, tone, sense of humor, taste, everything. EVERYTHING has changed to HIS way. Now, I'm sure I've picked up a few things here and there from my husband, but I'm still, I'm still Nadja from the block. Why do girls do this??? Ugh.
Is it just women that do this or do guys do it too?

I am so with you on this.
I keep just typing and typing and am creating a rant of my own. SOO... I shall delete it and just say loud and clear:
I AGREE WITH YOU 100%.
IN TOTAL AGREEMENT.....THEY ALL OF A SUDDEN CAN'T EVEN MAKE THE MOST SIMPLIIEST DECISSION WITHOUT MENTIONING THIER NAME!!!! BELIEVE ME THIS SUBJECT IS NOT SOMETHING NEW...IT'S BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS!!!!
Agreed! I see men do it sometimes too, it's just that we call them a pansy and move on. Or we say he's whipped.
I find this terribly annoying as well. I venture to guess that this person would also morph into her particular group of friends at the time. BE YOUR OWN PERSON!
Of course, we do pick up some words or phrases from our significant others, but come on.
Blerg! You're right, but maybe the way she was doing things before was annoying...did you ever think of that? Bet you didn't. I notice that a lot of my friends and I use the same verbage and I don't think it's weird...why not your wife?
No, she was WAY more fun and not NEARLY as pretentious.
I've noticed this too. And it is annoying. Like everyone has said, we pick up little things here and there, or perhaps they bring out some dormant aspect of our personality (for me, it would be my sarcasm). But I think it's sad when a person's life centers around their significant other. As I always say, "Bros before Hos" or "Chicks Before Di...." Well, you get the idea.
AGREE!!!!
I actually have two guy friends who this has happened too and it is SO freak'n annoying. It is so frustrating even hanging around them at times b/c they are not the same. It is one thing to grow together in your relationship, mature a bit, take an interest in the other persons likes, but you are exactly right....Still Be Your Own Person, do your own thing!!!!
"Oh WE have to go to HER families again this weekend", "Oh, I can't see my favorite band (Iron Maiden) with you b/c SHE doesn't want to go", "Oh, I am a big puss bag and have to do everything SHE wants." UGH!!!!!!
I love these guys to death, but come on already! And what is more frustrating is that people have even said things to them b/c they are our friends, but of course they don't see it anything wrong.
SO ANNOYING.
