I was getting my taxes done and the lady that did it was bothering me so much I couldn't concentrate on the task at hand. Granted, I wasn't in the best mood to begin with, but I'm also pretty sure she was illiterate. She looked through everything at the exact pace of molasses, continuously put EVERYTHING in her computer wrong and I HAD TO CORRECT IT, and licked her fingers with every page turn. Is it me or is that gross?? I was so icked out I had to look away lest I gag in her face. I now have HER SPIT all over my tax documents that I may end up accidentally touching in the exact spot she licked!!!!! She also continuously talked to the other illiterate people in the room about what THEY were working on. Then she tried to charge us $100 more than was quoted. My husband actually ended up taking our stuff and pretty much telling her to stuff it. I can't even begin to tell you how out of character that is for him. I was so proud I could have cried.
I came home and did them for free on TurboTax and got the same results... yeah, you heard me right lady! FOR FREE.

Yeah, I'm going to go with licking your fingers is sick as shit. I'm not a fan when people do it after eating wings either. Another thing that bothers me, there are a few, is when people have crumbs on their hands from eating something and they rub their thumb across their other four fingers (playing the smallest violin) to get the crumbs off. That shit makes me want to be violent.

We went to H&R Block one year to get our taxes done and I HATED our tax guy. He was a complete ass. I believe his exact words while on the phone to C. were, "You're not going to believe how much you owe."
OK...the licking of the fingers is absolutely gag-worthy! nasty.
and really, i've heard so many bad things about places like H&R Block. I'm so glad that my dad is a CPA w/ his own firm...I am lucky enough to get my taxes done by him! :)

I have one of those rubber finger things that ONLY I wear. I use that when I have alot of papers to go through b/c I don't want to be spreading my spit all over other people's papers or putting my finger in my mouth after I touch other peoples papers....ick!
We use H&R Block but it is some one we know. I loved Turbo Tax, but the past couple years have had so many changes with us (got married and bought a house one year, I was unemployed and got a new job this past year) that we feel better going to those places. I can't wait till we can use turbo tax again - it was so easy and cheap!

I remember when I was a kid, I saw my grandmother reading a book and she licked her finger to turn the page. I thought maybe it was a trick for better page-turning. I did it and ended up with a paper cut.
