Man, it's tough.

Our dog is passing. This is horrible. My husband has had him for 10 years and I've been fortunate enough to be with them, for the last 6 years. He was diagnosed with cancer a couple years ago and was give two weeks to live. We weren't ready to give up, and obviously neither was Yoda so we've done everything to help him. All this time you never would have known that this little guy was full of cancer. Then all of a sudden he went downhill fast. We took him to his beloved vet (shout out to Dr. Manolukas at Holly Farms Animal Care Center) to put him down. Well Dr. Manolukas wanted to try one more thing (he's just as devoted as we are) but it only worked for about an hour.

Now it's just a waiting game. The whole family is taking turns laying with him (he's not acting like he hurts) and just keeping him happy.

I just wish I knew what to do for my husband.

I know one thing not to do: DO NOT get him another dog...that's always a big girl mistake...or I guess, a big mistake made by girls, I wasn't calling you a big girl...I mean you're grown up and all, but not big in the sense...just don't buy him another dog.

Our thoughts are with you. I know how hard it is losing a pet, we lost our family dog a couple years ago and we still miss her. They are such an important part of your life.

But it really sounds like you are doing everything right b/c keeping your pets best intrest in mind over yours is the most important. When they start to be in pain or look unhappy, that is when you have to do what is right for them. Otherwise, you just stay with them and enjoy the time you have left.

I know I don't know you personally but lots of hugs to you both.

I love you both. Remember that he has had a wonderful life. He was a lucky dog to have the two of you. I mean that.

Hugs to Lou. My heart and prayers are with you.

I'm so sorry that your family is going through this. Like said above, we lost a family pet and it's difficult to get through. But you are all devoted and so nothing has been in vain. You are all in my thoughts.

Oh Nadja...

I'm so sorry. There really just are NO words...

I've known Yoda since he was a pup. (I remember when he peed on C's coat -- I'll have to tell you that story.)

A very BIG hug to both you and my big brother.

:-(

Me.
