Pregnancy Related Question

I wanna get my hur did.

I haven't had my hair cut, styled, and/or colored since BEFORE I got pregnant with Athena. We're talking over 3 years ago. I haven't been able to put my finger on what has been bothering me about my looks latetly, and I think this is it.

My.Hair.Is.GROSS.

I want a complete overhaul. I can't do anything medically about my now thin hair until after Zofia comes out, so I thought a good cut and color may help for the time being.

So what's the view on coloring your hair when pregnant?

I colored my hair several times while pregnant both times. Sophia seems normal.... ;)

My hairdresser actually gave me some long explanation about why it's okay while pregnant, because I was concerned at first. Can I remember anything she said...NO!

I colored and cut my hair with all three! only one of them came out with 11 fingers..... lol j/k

There are some salons that have a different die for pregnant customers if it bothers you to much!

I had my hair colored and highlighted when I was pregnant (but I did wait for the highlighting until after I was out of the 1st trimester, as is recommended)...and other than the smell bothering me a bit, all was good.

I've talked to several docs, including maternal fetal medicine specialist as well as a few hair dressers, and EVERYONE says it's now fine.

(though I did hear another pregnant girl say it's not okay at my birthing class a couple weeks ago).

I've colored my hair a few times since I found out I was pregnant. I'm not worried.

I'm late - but I'm chiming in: it's TOTALLY fine.

I dyed my hair when pregnant. And so far so good with Lilakins.

My hairstylist also explained in detail why it is OK to color your hair when pregnant. Something about the process used now is so much more advanced and safer than what was used when this 'rule' was made. I also did a lot of reading and I felt it was OK. Go for it! (And show us the results!)
