On his show, he was told the NFL's adam jones wanted to drop his old nickname "pacman" because it reminded people of his troubled past and arrests.
Imus asked the sports guy: "what color is he?"
the sports guy said: "he's african-american."
don imus: "well, there you go. now we know."
NOW imus tells the new york times, he "meant he was being picked on because he's black."
• DO YOU BELIEVE IMUS's EXPLANATION? I think it flew out of his mouth because he can't control it, he thought "Crap! I can't afford more fines!" and he tried to cover.

I heard that Imus' words were used out of context, but after the nappy-deaded hoes comment, I don't really buy that. He just needs to be off the air.
I believe him, and I think that this is another case of people being too sensitive. If you don't like it, don't listen...simple as that.
It's not like he advertises himself as a family show, but I don't agree with using free speech to protect racist comments.
I'm saying that the comment wasn't racist. It was tongue in cheek. He was just saying that a black man getting arrested for no reason is not some new thing...we can agree to disagree.
Gotcha
