Free Range Chickens and Kids

The ladies spent another afternoon with my parents on their mini farm. They run wild, dive into bushes, pretend to camp in a big camper, and play with all the animals. It's pretty much as amazing as you can get for a kid.

3 Acres to play in.

Camper nap.

My favorite hen.

My parents' chickens live the life. They get loved on, fed, played with, protected, and are free to roam. I challenge you to find happier chickens.

This is Shaq. He thinks my dad deserves a chicken-given ass kicking
and is first in line to hand one out.

Broody ladies are hatching us some chicks.

Watching the ladies grow and learn gives me an indescribable feeling.
This chicken said chicken swear words at me for looking at her chocolate-brown eggs.

My heart is filled to bursting watching my kids have so much fun in the same house I visited my grandparents in. Soon we'll pick and eat the same plums and mulberries my grandpa and I did and plant new trees and make new memories.

Summer. She hath arrived.

When my girlies come over and so thoroughly enjoy country life along side me, it just doesn't get any better. Really. It doesn't.

Love this post! How great that they get to be a part of that and have those experiences.

This is why I chose the preschool Alexa's going to. They have a farm. it's small...and most of the animals are just there to hang out, but they have chickens that lay eggs and the kids get to take part in feeding them. Oh and the parents get to take eggs home. I can't wait for all it's hippie dippie goodness!
