Weird Dreams Interpreted: What's wrong with my subconscious?

For the last entire freaking year I've been having the recurring dream that I'm choking on something like a really fine gravel. It's so realistic that I gag in my sleep. In my dream I try to spit it out, rinse it out, and dig it out with my hands but it just keeps regenerating and choking me. It was so bad last night that I decided to investigate and internet-diagnose my crazy this morning.

I have found forums of many people having the same dream as mine, but no specific interpretations; only ones on the more broad topic of choking.

Dreamprophesy.com suggests that it roots in frustration:

"Usually frustration dreams are brought on by things in our day to day life that we feel powerless against.  These things are either courtesy of other people (things others do that frustrate us) or they’re courtesy of our ourselves (things we, ourselves, do that frustrate us)." -My OCD?

Any thoughts or insight or own dreams to share? I love this stuff. The mind is amazing.

When I try to interpret my dreams I focus on the emotions I'm feeling in the dream. What are you feeling? Panic? Frustration? Anxiety? Anger? I believe it's your brain trying to work through those feelings.

The subconscious makes us face things we can't face when conscious.

The throat chakra corresponds with the soul. The voice comes from there, and our voice is what gives us power - it's how we let the world know what we want, thereby forming our world (in the beginning was the word, yadda yadda.) It is also the way we are able to take things in, and consume (food & drink.)

Considering these symbols, it does seem as if the interpretation you found is accurate. I guess all you can do is investigate your life and try to figure out what it is that you feel "choked up about." What is it that you feel powerless against? What are you not standing up for?

((hugs))

I dream a LOT, so I would probably go nuts trying to analyze all of them. But I do have a theory about that being your brain's "reindexing" time, which is why the most random things seem to be pulled up (and sometimes repeatedly.

I wrote up one of the odd ones I had a while ago here: http://withoutsushi.com/the-dangers-of-the-internet/
