I wonder if your right to vote should be based on your age or intelligence level. I was talking with one of my cousins about voting, who I was voting for, and why I was voting for them. I then asked her about her reasoning behind voting for her candidate of choice and she said "Oh, I totally voted for the other guy because he's way cuter." (SHOCK AWE AGHAST! PINCH SELF! YEP ACTUALLY AWAKE!)
"Um what? Are you serious?"
"Yeah. I think that other guy is just funny looking."
I was so taken aback by this level of ignorance I just backed away slowly lest I catch stupid.
It made me think of a conversation that I had with a 16 year old in a coffee shop that knew the candidates, the issues, and how it all affected him, and yet he wasn't able to vote... but my cousin the MENSA member can. Oh boy.
Ignorant voters scare me.

I also don't like when you ask who someone is voting for and they say "whoever the democrat is." If they were all the same, we wouldn't be in the mess we are in now.
Sadly, I think this is what a lot of people do. Hurley, well said.
The ignorant voters, and the ones who don't vote at all, are the most vocal when it comes to bitching about the state of affairs after the election. Grr!!!
T.W.I.T., that's why I tell people that part of your right to vote is your right to bitch and complain. If you want to say something about how crappy things are, go right ahead. But if you didn't vote, you have absolutely no right to say anything, because you didn't try to make a different at all.
It also bothers me that people are considering Obama just because he's black or Clinton just because she's a woman. Those are two horrible reasons to vote for people, just because they are members of some profile group. "Hey everyone with eye problems, vote for me! I wear glasses AND contacts! We practically agree on everything!"
Whatever, stupid-heads.
Agree with all the comments.
Just very ignorant.
LOL. That's so ridiculous. Voting on looks? Yeah, that's how I want to elect a politician. While on some level, I think appearance does drive some voters, but to have it as your sole reason? Ridic.
