I watched it. I think she's had far too much plastic surgery done for someone who is in their mid-30's and has 14 children, therefore other more pressing expenses.
My co-workers asked an interesting question: what is the difference between Nadya and the John & Kat Plus 8 scenerio?
My co-workers were basically saying that the only difference is that this lady is single and John & Kate were married, so therefore if you are getting all bent out of shape about her you are discriminating against single moms.
I haven't been following this story much (I know, I live in a hole) so I didn't have much to say as a response. And, since I'm not one to run off the head without having some sort of knowledge of a situation... I didn't say anything and just listened.
I would say the difference between this woman and Jon & Kate is that Jon & Kate are a married couple who had trouble conceiving and in no way anticipated sextuplets the second time around. Their IVF treatments were done ethically, they aren't on welfare (granted, they are supported by sponsors, but it's not my money) and although I despise Kate, her kids are growing up in a safe and stable home.
The Octo-mom is single and partook in unethical IVF treatments to satisfy a psychological disorder. A lot of people "just love children," but you don't see us getting implanted with an exceptional number of fertilized eggs. She and her 14 (!!!) children live with her divorced, bankrupt parents in a three-bedroom, filth-covered home. She is unemployed and living completely off taxpayer dollars through S.S. and welfare. But she still manages to afford collagen injections, apparently.
I try to support single mothers because they chose life and most of them are trying to make the most they can out of their circumstances. But Octo-mom voluntarily took on a situation that even the most prepared and resourceful parents couldn't even imagine. And she's passed the burden onto her parents, the taxpayers and, unfortunately, her children. They are whom I really feel sorry for.
I could careless about the wack-o Octopussy mom...I feel for the kids. I read on Msnbc that 3 of the 6 kids she already has have special needs and they can't tell yet how many of the octuplets will have special needs as well.
It would not shock me at all if all of her kids are removed by Social Services by the end of the year. :(

UGH!!!!!! this woman is a nut.
there was a poll on CNN.com the other day that was something to the effect of: Would you watch a TV show about the mother of the octuplets?
the answers were as follows:
Yes: 1%
No: 99%
