I'm prepared for the backlash...

I purchased one of these today.
"A fun animal backpack with a "tail" for parents to hold onto. Safely keep track
of active children without the negative connotations associated with a "leash"
or "harness."
Excellent for families with toddlers and small babies. Allows
you to tend to your baby while knowing where your toddler is.
A chance you
can't afford to take. Adventurous toddlers and public places just don't mix.
It's all too easy to lose hold of your child's hand in a crowd, or lose track of
him among racks of merchandise. That's why we recommend this tether."

I already know that women out there with perfect children (and those that aren't even parents yet still have opinions) are going to have something to say about my most recent purchase... especially considering a particular childless girl I know that said "If you have to have your kid on a leash you shouldn't be a parent." Well I think that simpleminded "ladies" that behave as though they are still on high school spring break shouldn't speak, but that's neither here nor there.
And they've never gone anywhere with the Bee. And they can kiss my ass.

You know what really grinds my gears?

People that say to me "Oh, seriously! Everyone is OCD!"

Really? Could you be a little more thoughtless, ignorant, and condescending? Do you also go to the school of Just Take Some Vitamins and You'll Be OK Because it's Not Really an Affliction? I hear Tom Cruise is a stellar Dean of Admissions.

Let me tell you something. If EVERYONE had OCD, here are a few things that would be true:
1. Very little would get done as we'd all be periodically stuck screwing with the locks, stove knobs, washing hands, or whatever your obsession may be.
2. Zoloft and Xanax would be in the drinking water like fluoride as a way to help the population cope with its crippling anxiety.
3. My therapist would not be driving a Prius, but rather would be chauffeured to work every day in a Rolls Royce as she would be one of the wealthiest people on the planet.
4. PEOPLE WOULDN'T SAY DUMB SHIT LIKE THAT TO ME.

Here's the deal. If you've never been trapped in your room by fear, had a facial twitch, sabotaged important relationships, not been able to go to work, not slept for 11 months because you had to vigilantly watch your sleeping infant, had unbearably time consuming compulsions and rituals that you couldn't stop, or any other number of incredibly embarrassing things that you can't even vocalize for fear that an angry mob will form outside your house as you OBVIOUSLY should have been committed AGES ago THEN JUST STOP TALKING.

OCD has become such a common term to describe meticulous people. No, not everyone is OCD. People are quirky... some must have things clean, orderly, etc. It's not even close to being the same thing. Trust me, I know.

I am too, Michael Ian Black

I'm sick of the ads. I'm sick of the rants. I'm sick of people jumping down each other's throats all the time. I'm sick of how divided the country is. I'm sick of people saying SUPER negative things about the other side and then not even remotely being able to take it as well. I'm sick of racists. I'm sick of ageists (would you look at that Republicans! I can stand up for yours too!) I'm sick of sexists. I'm sick of things being taken out of context. I'm sick of no one having a sense of humor about this thing and IMMEDIATELY freaking out.

I'm out.
