My favorite political discussion I've ever had.
Athena and I were driving down the street the other day and we passed a building with a bunch of political signs.
Athena: "Hey! I know that sign! The blue and white one!"
Me: "Oh yeah? The one like ours? Obama?
Athena: "Nooooooo. Mitt Romney."
Me: "How do you know who Mitt Romney is?"
Athena: "Oh, I KNOW Mitt Romney."
Me: *snort* "Is that so?"
Athena: "Yes. I KNOOOOOOOW Mitt Romney."
Her dad is NOT going to be happy with who she's keeping time with.

Will you vote today?
My husband is a union man. As was my dad, his dad, our grandfathers and uncles. Having a union job has provided for us well. Because of the life my husband is able to provide, I can stay home, raise our children, and have a very comfortable life.
Unions make the middle class.
There is a push to make Ohio a "right to work" state, and if this happens, families like mine will completely lose our way of life. In "right to work" states an average worker makes $7,131 a year less than workers in free-bargaining states. "Right to work" states have higher poverty rates and poorer schools. Minorities in "right to work" states make between 31-50% less than their union counterparts.
Please, don't forget to vote today and pass this message along.
"In our glorious fight for civil rights, we must guard against being fooled by false slogans as 'right to work.' It provides no 'rights' and no 'works.' Its purpose is to destroy labor unions and the freedom of collective bargaining... We demand this fraud be stopped." - Martin Luther King, Jr.

I voted today!
It's 66 degrees here in Toledo, Ohio and it couldn't have been a better day to load the ladies up into the dual stroller and walk to our polling location. Athena has been joining me for voting for 4 years and this is Zofia's second time at this rodeo, so they're old pros. Either that or they knew they were going to get showered with stickers and suckers by the poll workers and a Happy Meal out of me.
Treated myself to a coffee boyfriend. Weeeeee!
Zofia tasted juice for the first time.
She shotgunned it right in front of me and is now eating the box.
I'm sure a lot of people know that Issue 2 here in Ohio is kind of a big deal. Yes, I listened to the news and read the handouts, but what carried the most weight with me was what the firemen, teachers, and nurses that I know had to say. So for you, friends, I voted NO on 2!
