I'll do it for them.

I won't preach. I won't get up on a soapbox. I understand that people are leery of vaccinations. I am on a delayed schedule with my ladies. BUT I think that not vaccinating your child (or yourself) at all is even more dangerous. Without vaccinations you have widespread death and disease like they do in Africa. With vaccines we've been able to just about wipe diseases like polio and smallpox off the map. So when I read something like Another Infant in California Dies of Whooping Cough, it worries me. And it should worry you as well. And it's not just in California. It's in Ohio as well.

So Louis, Athena, my mom, and I will all be getting boosters, and Zofia will be getting her shots on schedule. I feel it's the least I can do for my kids and also my nephew with breathing problems.

I don't expect anyone to get vaccinations for their kids or themselves just because some mommy-blogger tells them to. However, I DO expect everyone to read and research everything they can and talk to their doctors.

13-year-old's school strip-search case heads to Supreme Court

(CNN) -- The case of a 13-year-old Arizona girl strip-searched by school officials looking for ibuprofen pain-reliever will be heard by the U.S. Supreme Court this week.

The Supreme Court has a mixed record when it comes to students' rights.

The justices in January accepted the Safford school district case for review, and will decide whether a campus setting gives school administrators greater discretion to control students suspected of illegal activity than police are allowed in cases involving adults in general public spaces.
The case is centered around Savana Redding, now 19, who in 2003 was an eighth-grade honors student at Safford Middle School, about 127 miles from Tucson, Arizona. Redding was strip-searched by school officials after a fellow student accused her of providing prescription-strength ibuprofen pills.
The school has a zero-tolerance policy for all prescription and over-the-counter medication, including the ibuprofen, without prior written permission...

The State Attorney's Office will seek the death penalty against Casey Anthony.

This reverses an earlier decision made by prosecutors.In a notice filed this afternoon, prosecutors stated that additional information has become available since they filed their initial waiver of intent to seek the death penalty on Dec. 5. The filing states that "sufficient aggravating circumstances exist to justify the imposition of the Death Penalty..."

*I got all up in arms about this and didn't post what I thought yet, and I mean, you are all dying to know what I think, right? Why else would you be here?
I think this is giving parents the awesome opportunity to open a dialogue about disabilities in the privacy of their own homes, and the person WITH the disability that is starting the conversation in safely on the television out of earshot. Having this conversation now will save you the pain of having it later in public after your child has yelled "LOOK MOMMY! THAT GUY HAS NO LEGS!" and everyone looks at you and your child like you're a couple of uncouth beasts.
The people that don't want to talk about this with their kids are either lazy, uptight, or honestly just don't know how to communicate with their child about "uncomfortable" subjects. Good luck later on when they ask "Mom, what's sex?"

(CNN) -- A children's show host who was born with one hand is facing criticism from parents over her disability.

BBC spokeswoman Katya Mira said the corporation has received at least 25 "official" complaints recently about Cerrie Burnell, new host of two shows on the BBC-run CBeebies television network, which is aimed at children younger than 6.
The official complaints do not count the dozens of negative comments lodged in Internet chat rooms, Mira said.
In one chat room, a father lamented that Burnell being on the show forced him to have conversations with his child about disabilities.
However, there have also been messages of support for Burnell. What do you think about the complaints?
"We have also received 99 appreciations of her," Mira said.
Burnell started as a presenter of the shows in late January after acting with theater companies in Manchester, England, and Brazil.
A BBC news release in January introducing Burnell made no mention of her disability, but a publicity photo showed the right sleeve of her sweater pulled up, showing her arm stops just below her elbow.
The issue has spurred a debate in England among newspapers, columnists and bloggers.
Burnell said she has heard the criticism and will not let it bother her.
'It can only be a good thing that parents are using me as a chance to talk disability with their children. It just goes to show how important it is to have positive, disabled role models on CBeebies and television in general," Burnell said.
Michael Carrington, BBC controller of CBeebies, said the company is standing by Burnell.
"Cerrie is warm and natural and we think that, in time, all moms and dads and children will love her as much as we do," Carrington said.

This poor little girl has been missing for months. After she had gone missing, her mom was just out and about, going to hot body contests, not reporting it to anyone. They have found chloroform, hair, and decomp smell in her car which she says is from a squirrel... but I highly doubt she had to chloroform a squirrel. She claims she left her with a random Puerto Rican nanny. I hope to God that she did and the woman ran off with her.

"Casey had been held on multiple charges including child neglect, lying to investigators, petty theft and use of a forged check, but hasn't been charged in conjunction with her daughter's disappearance.
Authorities have been searching for Caylee Anthony since they were notified of her disappearance in July, nearly a month after she went missing.
